  10.        This release note describes patch SG0002759 to IRIX
  11.        6.2/6.3/6.4.

  15.        This patch contains bug fixes for all hardware platforms.

  20.        This patch contains the FORTRAN Standard Execution
  21.        Environment, version 7.2.1.  This patch is required in order
  22.        to run FORTRAN f90.  This patch is made to install on a
  23.        system running IRIX 6.2, IRIX 6.3 or IRIX 6.4, and the 7.2.1
  24.        compilers.  The software cannot be installed on other
  25.        configurations.

  29.        This patch contains fixes for the following bugs in IRIX
  30.        6.2, IRIX 6.3 and IRIX 6.4.  Bug numbers from Silicon
  31.        Graphics bug tracking system are included for reference.

  34.             smaller patches

  36.           +o SGI bug number 479942: This patch provides the 7.2.1
  37.             compilers Standard Execution Environment which is not
  38.             shipped as part of the 7.2.1 compilers for IRIX 6.2,
  39.             IRIX 6.3 and IRIX 6.4.  The 7.2.1 compilers for IRIX
  40.             6.2 are shipped with the 6.2 Standard Execution
  41.             Environment.  The 7.2.1 compilers for IRIX 6.3 and IRIX
  42.             6.4 are shipped with the 7.1 Standard Execution
  43.             Environment.

  79.        Because you want to install only the patches for problems
  80.        you have encountered, patch software is not installed by
  81.        default.  After reading the descriptions of the bugs fixed
  82.        in this patch (see Section 1.3), determine the patches that
  83.        meet your specific needs.

  85.        If, after reading Sections 1.1 and 1.2 of these release
  86.        notes, you are unsure whether your hardware and software
  87.        meet the requirements for installing a particular patch, run
  88.        _i_n_s_t.  The _i_n_s_t program does not allow you to install
  89.        patches that are incompatible with your hardware or
  90.        software.

  92.        Patch software is installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  93.        software product.  Follow the instructions in your _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e
  94.        _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_o_r'_s _G_u_i_d_e to bring up the miniroot
  95.        form of the software installation tools.

  97.        Follow these steps to select a patch for installation:

  99.          1.  At the Inst> prompt, type

  105.          2.  Initiate the installation sequence. Type

  110.              incompatible.  (The installation tools reject an
  111.              installation request if an incompatibility is
  112.              detected.)  If this occurs, you must deselect one of

  142.        To remove a patch, use the _v_e_r_s_i_o_n_s _r_e_m_o_v_e command as you
  143.        would for any other software subsystem.  The removal process
  144.        reinstates the original version of software unless you have
  145.        specifically removed the patch history from your system.
